A Bit About Us
Paul Erbs and Darren Carman started Mairin OHS&E Consulting in 2006. Back then they worked out of a spare room in Paul’s home.
We often get asked where the name “Mairin” came from. If you’re wondering, the short answer is: it came from a fridge magnet.
Mairin is the Gaelic version of the name Maureen, which is Paul’s wife’s name. The fridge magnet said that people with the name Mairin were “Dependable, Reliable and Trustworthy”. Paul and Darren felt these were the characteristics they wanted to instil in their team, and so the company name was born.
A family company
Mairin soon grew too large to be a ‘spare room’ outfit and moved to offices in Moe.
Wanting to remain true to the ‘Dependable, Reliable Trustworthy’ tenet of the company name, Paul and Darren hired a number of experienced people to join the company.
The family feel to Mairin is one of the things that sets us apart from our competitors. The friendly attitude of our work family is extended to our clients.
