Here at Mairin, we appreciate that it is the wider community that allows us to be successful. In an effort to give something back to the community we are providing ongoing sponsorship and support to a number of organisations that are important to us for a variety of reasons. Groups we currently sponsor include:
With so much of the work Mairin does being related to asbestos, we understand the heartbreak and trauma that arises when people find they have been exposed to asbestos. Because of the outstanding work they do in providing ongoing support for people affected by asbestos, and the lobbying they do on their behalf, Mairin are proud to be supporters of GARDS.
Please visit their website to find out more about the work they do and how you can be involved.
Trafalgar Thorpdale RSL
The RSL sub-branches throughout Australia support their local veterans, whether they are RSL members or not, and provide much needed assistance and funding to local community groups of all types. They support sporting groups, underprivileged children, aged care facilities, the homeless, those in need, and of course, our many veterans, war widows and their families.
After many years in limbo the Trafalgar-Thorpdale RSL has recently experienced a resurgence thanks to the efforts and hard work of a dedicated team of volunteer supporters.
The club provides support to its current/former; service, affiliate and social members including families. They provide many advocacy services to ensure our veterans get their relevant entitlements and support so they can live their post service life with dignity.
At the same time, they are actively involved in commemorative and educational activities to ensure that those who fought and often died to protect our way of life are never forgotten. We want to make sure that young Australians understand and respect this sacrifice.
Mairin is proud to support this organisation in their community work.
Local Education Assistance Fund Inc
Based in Trafalgar, LEAF was established by one of Mairin’s valued employees.
LEAF is a registered charity totally run by unpaid volunteers. They provide financial assistance to high school students to help pay for things like text books, uniform items, school camps.
The pressures of financial hardship can affect the self-esteem of some students and cause them to drop out of school. LEAF’s aim is to try and help these students feel included and not stand out as being different just because they can’t afford these items. If they fit in at school they may stay longer and get a better education.
